Varikam H70 is a custom camera designed by ALTA for all space missions from MADA station. I designed this one for a short film telling that story, teh design is inspired by Dieter Rams work. The short is half CGI and half Live-action, so this will be a real prop on screen made with 3D printing and pieces of old cameras from the 70s and 80s.

I started to develop a short film that is half CGI and half Live-action, during planning for the scenes, production design and cinematography, we realized that more than 14 real-life props for actors to interact with needed to be conceptualized and manufactured for screen use.

Most of them are tech devices with screens and interfaces, this is one of them. A small arm computer that attaches to the aastronaut suit.

This was my 2nd time rendering with V-ray next for Modo and also my 2nd time texturing with Substance painter. Amazing experience usign both, pipeline was a little tricky but the next devices were increadibly fast to conceptualize.
